Valentina Borghi is Head of the Autographs & Memorabilia Department at Chiswick Auctions, bringing specialist expertise in historical documents, manuscripts and cultural memorabilia. She previously led the Autographs and Manuscripts sales at Bloomsbury Auctions, where she developed a strong reputation for scholarly research, careful cataloguing and market-led valuation.

Valentina holds an MA in Fine and Decorative Arts from Sotheby’s Institute of Art, London, and a BA in Modern Literature from the University of Bologna, Italy. Her academic background underpins a rigorous approach to authenticity, provenance and historical context, particularly in relation to political, literary and archival material.

Her professional interests centre on historic autographs, manuscripts and documents, and she has been widely published in Italian art history journals on related subjects. This research-led perspective allows her to place material accurately within both a scholarly and commercial framework.

At Chiswick Auctions, Valentina oversees the valuation and sale of autographs and memorabilia, advising private collectors, estates and institutions. She is known for her considered, methodical approach and her ability to guide clients clearly through valuation, consignment and auction strategy.
