Sophie has extensive experience in the international auction market, most recently working at Sotheby's in the Old Master and 19th Century Paintings departments, where she played an integral role in the research, sourcing, cataloguing, and sale of works across major Evening, Day, and Orientalist Art auctions, contributing to a number of high-profile sales. Highlights include her involvement in the landmark auctions from the collection of Freddie Mercury which achieved white glove results and exceptional prices.

Prior to this, Sophie spent four years at Roseberys Auctioneers, gaining broad expertise across the Old Master, European & British Art, and Modern British Art departments. During this time, she was closely involved in the expansion and development of the specialist departments and led the Traditional and Modern Home Picture auctions.

She began her career through internships at Christie's and Tennants Auctioneers, as well as volunteering for the British Sporting Art Trust. Sophie studied History of Art at the University of Warwick, where she spent four months studying in Venice, focusing on Italian Renaissance and Baroque art movements.

Sophie specialises in 18th and 19th Century British art, Italian Renaissance and Orientalist art, she hopes to expand these areas in the tri-annual Old Master & 19th Century Art sales at Chiswick Auctions. 

Outside of work, Sophie is a keen sailor and in 2014, became the youngest woman to complete the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race.
