Yes, our Chiswick Saleroom is now open to the public for valuations, viewings and collections by appointment only.

Offering these services by appointment only allows us to maintain social distancing within our Saleroom. To help protect our clients and staff, we: 

  • Regularly sanitise our Saleroom and public spaces
  • Provide PPE for both staff and clients 
  • Display Social Distancing Signage throughout our public spaces
  • Manage Valuation and Viewings areas to comply with social distancing

How do I buy at auction? 

All of our sales are live streamed through our online platform Chiswick Live, meaning you can follow along and bid from the comfort of your own home. We currently offer the following bidding methods:

  • Online Bidding through Chiswick Live with no additional online surcharge
  • Telephone Bidding 
  • Absentee Bidding

How do I view the lots before the sale?

All our sales are fully illustrated online and have been expertly catalogued by our specialists. 

We recommend you request a condition report via our website prior to the sale. Our specialists are more than happy to assist with any additional questions via email, phone and Zoom Call. In certain circumstances, a video condition report will be available, providing a ‘virtual viewing’ of the lot from the comfort of your home.

If you would like to view a lot(s) in person, please contact the relevant specialist to set up an appointment at our Chiswick Saleroom. During these viewings, we’ll ask you to follow social distancing guidelines and other measures to reduce risks including wearing gloves and a face mask.


How do I watch and bid on an auction from home? 

Our sales are broadcast via live stream, which can be accessed through our website. To launch the sale online, follow these three easy steps:

  1. Visit  
  2. Click on the 'View auction' button for the auction you wish to follow
  3. Select 'Watch live' and the live stream will open. The 'Watch live' button will appear on the website approximately 20 minutes before the start of the auction. 


Online Bidding:  

Chiswick Live is our online bidding platform that allows you to bid from the comfort of your own home and benefit from our standard buyer’s premium terms without any additional online bidding surcharges. 

Here are some easy steps to get you started with Chiswick Live: 

  1. Select My Account in the navigation menu
  2. Create a Chiswick Live account or login into your account prior to the auction
  3. Select the ‘place bid’ function on your desired lot


Telephone and Commission Bids:

We are accepting telephone bids and commision bids on all our sales.You can place a commission bid directly by creating your own personal account on Alternatively you can request a telephone bid or place a commission bid by sending an email  to or calling T:  +44 (0)20 8992 4442. 


I was the successful bidder, what happens next?

Congratulations, you had the winning bid, now it's time to arrange payment and collection.



Payments can be made quickly and easily online through our payment platform or via bank transfer. Our Buyers Accounts Department is on hand to answer any question or guide you through the process. Please note, we do not accept American Express.



We are now offering contactless collection by appointment only, adhering to social distancing guidelines at our Chiswick Saleroom. Please can you or your chosen courier email quoting your invoice number, to book an appointment or to discuss other collection arrangements.  Please be aware, we are asking clients to pay online prior to arrival to ensure an easy and safe collection process.

Storage Fees

As restrictions on the movement of goods and people are easing, Chiswick Auctions will no longer offer free storage for items purchased in our sales prior to 10 May unless agreed by prior arrangement. We will allow 14 days from Monday 11 May for you to make the necessary arrangements to collect, after this time, you will be charged our normal storage fees, our terms are listed below.


CA Ltd offers a discretionary 14 days free storage on purchased and unsold Lots from the date of the sale. Thereafter Lots not collected shall incur storage charges of:


  • £5.00 per lot, per day or part thereof for smalls and pictures (defined as anything that can be handled by one person)

  • £10.00 per lot, per day for furniture and other larger lots. 


CA Ltd shall be entitled to retain said Lots until all sums due have been paid to CA Ltd. If any lot remains uncollected 21 days after the sale, storage charges shall thereafter be £10/£20 (smalls/larger items) per day and CA Ltd shall, in accordance with the Law, have the right to sell the purchased Lot to recover payment of storage charges outstanding. Any balance proceeds of sale received after payment of all sums outstanding and due to CA Ltd shall be held for the account of the Buyer.
