An early 20th century Chinese export silver twin handled bowl, Canton or Hong Kong circa 1920, marked De Long

Republic period. Of lobed rounded circular form with a wavey rim, the twin handles modelled as flowering prunus branches, all upon a domed lobed spreading circular foot. The body with cast and applied decoration of alternating panels comprising water lily, a Chinese dragon amidst clouds, flowering prunus attended to by birds, storks among iris flowers, chrysanthemums, a bird among bamboo, each heightened with flat chased decoration. The foot with alternating flat chased panels of bamboo, flowering prunus, and chrysanthemum. Marked underneath with artisan mark 徳隆 (DE LONG), and numeral 90.
