An extremely fine part silk Isfahan rug, central Persia

Approx: 174cm. x 112cm. Very good example for Isfahan weaving with elegant design with scrolling arabesques, multicolourd palmettes and central concentric arabesque and floral medallion. Colours are very well blended with soft ivory field. This rug has full pile, very soft and lustrous kurk wool. Extremely fine weave, approx: 10 x 9 knots per sq. cm; woven on silk foundation. Selvages original. Ends with original kilim and fringes. In general, this rug is in very good condition throughout. Elegant and very good furnishing piece.
