A pair of fine antique Isfahan prayer rugs, central Persia

Approx: each, 209cm. x 139cm. Very good type with very nicely drawn design of various trees, birds and animals. Very well balanced colours with shaded soft beige field. Each rug has slight localized wear to the pile, down to knot collar in places, mainly on camel colour (border and field). Selvages rebound, well done, slightly curling. Touches for wear on edge cord in small places. Ends with short fringes, secured. Fine weave, approx; 8 x 7 knots per sq. cm. Despite imperfection, both rugs are in good usable condition. Seldom found type woven in pair. Attractive and good furnishing rugs.
