European Tour

A pair of snapshot albums featuring tour images from around Europe, including views in the Netherlands, Austria, England, the Isle of Man, St Moritz. One smaller album, containing 48 silver gelatin print snapshots measuring 60 x 80mm, slid into page mounts, two per page, many with manuscript captions beneath the images, primarily featuring landscape views, including a pair of interesting trekking images of a woman in Edwardian dress. The album overall measures 195 x 145mm.
The other album, containing 142 silver gelatin snapshot prints depicting scenes on the Isle of Man, was compiled in the mid-1930s. Subjects include four mid-race photographs of the Tourist Trophy (TT) Races of 1936; landscape, coastal, and evening views around the island; Port Soderick; an interesting snapshot of a seaside puppet show; scenes of Douglas, the capital of the Isle of Man; harbour and fishing activity; 24 snapshots of the Coronation Naval Review, 1936; and a small group of scenes from travels to Chester, Liverpool, the Lake District, and London during the Coronation Year, 1937. Image sizes ranging from 60 x 85mm to 80 x 110mm, mounted to page recto in corners, pages titled and dated in pen, album overall measuring 195 x 275mm.
