A mid to late 19th century Swiss enamel gold dip pen

Foliate decoration in polychrome enamel against a white ground. The terminal with carnelian. Unmarked.

Length – 14.3 cm / 5.6 inches

Weight – 17 grams / 0.55 ozt

Provenance:

Amelia FitzMaurice née Samuel, Countess of Orkney (1813-1890), to her son by her first marriage

Baron Arthur Denis Samuel de Vahl (1837-1918), to his daughter

Maud de Vahl (1870-1920), to her daughter

Henrietta de Vahl Currey (1904-1978), thence by descent.
