A very fine part silk Tabriz carpet, north-west Persia

Approx: 344cm. x 250cm. Very good type with very well drawn design of bold floral and arabesque central medallion surrounded by scrolling floral and leafy fine together with soft ivory arabesque spandrels. Good colour combination with light soft rust field. This carpet has full pile, soft and lustrous wool together with part silk on medallion, field and border design. Very fine weave, approx: 8 x 8 knots per sq. cm. Selvages original. Ends with original fringes, secured. In general, this carpet is in very good condition. Attractive and very good furnishing piece.
