Notes:

Martin Bloch worked alongside and was associated with several prominent artists during his career. In Germany, he was influenced by and had connections to members of the German Expressionist movement, including artists like Max Pechstein and Emil Nolde. After emigrating to Britain, Bloch became part of a circle of refugee and avant-garde artists, including Oskar Kokoschka, Hans Feibusch, and Kurt Schwitters. He also influenced a younger generation of British artists through his teaching, notably at the Camberwell School of Art and other institutions. His presence helped bridge Continental Expressionism with emerging trends in British modernism.
