An extremely fine silk and metal Thread Hereke prayer rug, Turkey

Approx: 140cm. x 96cm. Very well drawn design with soft pastel colours. Apart of old repair at one end, middle part, wel done, this rug has full pile, very soft and shiny silk together with matal thread (inscripton cartouches and central pamette). Selavges original. Ends with fringes, secured. Extremely fine weave, approx: 10 x 9 knots per sq. cm; woven on silk foundation. In general, this rug is very good usable condition. Very attractive and sought after type on the market.
