A George III sterling silver twin handled cup and cover, London 1810 by William Frisbee (first reg. 12th April 1791)
Of rounded circular form upon a circular pedestal base, the cast and applied twin handles chased with heads and torsos of helmeted soldiers with acanthus scroll surrounds. The pull-off domed and waisted lid surmounted by a shell and scroll amorphous pyriform finial, above a central section with an ovolo edge, the base of lid with a cast and applied border of scallop shells and rosettes scrolls. The body with cartouches either side formed as cast and applied crossed palm branches and a wreath of laurel, all below a band of acorns and oak leaves, and a rosette band below. The foot edge with an applied band of rosette scrolls. Fully marked to foot rim and to lid bezel, the lid and base with later Portuguese import marks.
