An antique Qashqai Shekralu carpet, south-west Persia

Approx: 300cm. x 183cm. Very good type seldom found in the sales. Very good design with nicely drawn various floral motfs, large birds and hooked trees. Very good colour combinaton with shaded rust-red field. Apart of localized wear to the pile in small places on the field and border also small old repairs, this carpet has good pile, soft wool quality. Selvages original. Ends with original checkered skirt and fringes, secured. Despite imperfections, this carpet is in good usable condition. Atrractive and very good furnishing piece. Woven on wool warps.
