An antique Mahal carpet, west Persia

Approx: 408cm. x 315cm. Very good type with very good overall design of multicoloured hooked and angular palmettes together with serrated leaves and various floral motfs. In bold palmette and serrated leave vine border between floral and zig-zag stripes. This carpet has light wear to the pile, down to knot collar, otherwise pile is good. Selvages rebound, very well done. Ends with short fringes, secured. In general, this carpet is in very good usable condition, despite imperfection. Great furnishing piece. Attractive.
