A George III unmarked gold mounted carnelian vinaigrette

Of oval form, with inlaid carnelian. The hinged lid opens to reveil a pull off drill pierced grill. The underside engraved ' 1811 Lisbon T L Coker 29th Reg'

Notes:

Thomas Lewis Coker (1791- 1849) was British Lieutenant, commisioned in 1808 with the 29th (Worcestershire) Regiment of Foot, and fought the Peninsular wars against the first French Empire alongside the 1st Duke of Wellington.
