Arabic manuscript on paper, 418ff. plus two fly-leaves, each folio with 5ll. of bold black ink naskh script on stained lined paper, the final 47ff. with more lines, surrounded by a broad margin of kitabat, the opening bifolio with text in gold cloudbands and scrolling vegetal illumination at the top, the marginal text finer and more minute in the opening chapters, chapter headings in red, catchwords, verse markers in gold rosettes, two large polychrome-painted illuminations with aerial views of Meccan pilgrimage sites including the black Ka'ba and the interior of the al-Masjid an-Nabawi, catchwords, in blind-tooled red calf binding, the spine in red lambskin, the interior text panel 9.7cm x 5cm, the outer text panel 17.5cm x 8.7cm, the folio 20.5cm x 11.5cm.
