An extremely fine part silk Isfahan prayer rug, central Persia

Approx: 174cm. x 110cm. Beautifully drawn design with flowering tress, large floral vase, birds and animals. Very good colour combination. This rug has full pile, very soft and lustrous kurk wool together with part silk on field and borders design. Extremely fine weave, approx: 10 x 9 knots per sq. cm; woven on silk foundation. Selvages original. Ends with original kilim and fringes. In general, this rug is in very good condition throughout. Very attractive and elegant piece.
