A late 17th century German parcel gilt silver beaker, Augsburg circa 1680, makers mark obscured possibly for Hans Philipp Sigmund (active 1659-88)
Of tapering cylindrical form with three oval cartouches with three embossed classical male busts, interspersed with various ribbon tied trophies of war such as an oval shield with SPQR on it, another with a shield with a grotesque mask, another with crossed flags. The upper section with a gilt band with an incised edge. Engraved underneath with Russian letters C:Ѱ. Gilt interior. Marked underneath with town mark, makers mark and assay scrape.
