A George III sterling silver teapot, London 1779 by Thomas Daniell
Of oval form, the straight tubular spout opposite a tuned ivory C scroll handle pinned to sockets. The flat disc lid with flush hinge surmounted by a detachable turned ivory knop finial. The body with a vacant applied oval cartouche to each side, below bright cut engraved tied ribbon and pendant swags, all between bright cut engraved bands of rosettes and recesses, the lid similarly engraved. The tip of spout with an engraved small sprig of flowers. Fully marked underneath, the lid with lion passant only.
