A LARGE KOREAN INLAID SLIP-DECORATED SANGAM CELADON 'CRANES' BOX AND COVER

Goryeo Dynasty, 12th - 13th Century

The heavily potted, finely decorated box with a domed cover, decorated in sangam inlay black and white slip on a celadon ground, the cover depicting a band of lotus petals and surrounded by four cranes in flights amongst cloud motifs, the rim of the bowl with a band of key-fret decoration17.5cm diameter
