Comprising two tiles of similar design and square shape, both painted in the cuerda seca technique with a palette of cobalt blue, yellow, green, turquoise and manganese brown, the composition on both tiles divided into three overlapping horizontal bands featuring intersecting blue and yellow cusped arches; scrolling rosette stems with leafy bunches and lush blooms; and a fragmentary section of two compositional scenes with tree trunks on one tile, and Chinese ru clouds and lotus flowers on the other, respectively 22cm x 23.5cm and 23.3cm x 23.4cm.
