A very fine Isfahan rug, central Persia

Approx:211cm. x 149cm. Very good example for this type with very nicely drawn design of floral and arabesque shaped palmettes, floral and leafy fine together with birds. Good colour combination. This rug has full pile, soft wool and very fine weave, approx: 9 x 8 knots per sq. cm; woven on veery fine light-blue cotton weft. Selvages original. Ends with short fringes, secured. In general, this rug is in very good condition. Attractive and very good furnishing piece.
