A George II sterling silver tea caddy

Of rectangular form with reentrant corners, a hinged lid. All over with engraved decoration of rosette trellis work against a striated ground, the rims with engraved guilloche bands. The lid centred with an oval cartouche engraved with a ostrich ducally crowned. Fully marked underneath, and with lion passant to lid interior.

Height – 11.5 cm / 4.5 inches

Weight – 426 grams / 13.7 ozt
