London 1723 and 1733 by Paul de Lamerie additionally struck for Paul Crespin
A George I / II Britannia standard and sterling silver ink stand or standish

The base of shaped oblong form with a cast and chased edge of maiden heads within rocaille with foliate scrolls, all raised upon four cast lion paw feet. The field with flat chased decoration of rocaille and lattice work reserves. Fitted with a bell and inverted baluster form sander and ink well. Each with removable lids, the sander pierced with nought cross and edged with lattice work reserves, the bodies with flat chased rocaille sprigs. The pen recesses each engraved with a crest of a boar’s head couped. Engraved with scratch weight underneath 28 13. Fully marked underneath and to three elements, the bell for 1723 in Britannia standard, the underside with additional mark for Crespin, the sander and ink well with Crespin overstriking Lamerie, the sander lid with lion passant only, the inkwell unmarked.
