HRH Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha - A William IV sterling silver Royal dinner plate, London 1831 by John Bridge (reg. 25th Nov 1823)

Of shaped circular form with gadrooned edge with double shell and acanthus leaf bosses interspersed with anthemion. The edge engraved with a quartered coat of arms between the Royal supporters and the motto below Treu und Fest, all surmounted by the Royal crown. Fully marked to the reverse.

Diameter – 26.7 cm / 10.5 inches

Weight – 700 grams / 22.51 ozt

The arms are those of the Royal arms overall with a label of three-points charged on the centre with cross quartering Saxe Coburg und Gotha

For HRH Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha (1816-61) husband and prince consort of HRH Queen Victoria (1819-1901, r. 1837-1901) who were married on the 10th February 1840.
