A graduated set of four early George III sterling silver waiters

Each of square form with reentrant corners, with gadrooned rims, all raised upon four scroll feet. Each engraved with a quartered and impaled coat of arms between crossed palm branches, with the motto below Ago Et Spero. Each engraved underneath with scratches weights for the larger pair 16 = 8 and 16 = 5, and to the smaller pair 10 = 14 and 10 = 12. Each fully marked to the reverse. (4)

Larger pair length across – 23.2 cm / 9.1 inches

Smaller pair length across – 19 cm / 7.5 inches

Weight – 1631 grams / 52.44 ozt

The arms are for Mill quartering others including Sandys and Knollys, quartering Mill impaling Warren

For Sir Richard Mill (1717-1770) 6th Baronet of Camois Court who married in August 1760 Dorothy Warren, daughter and heir of Richard Warren, Esq. and Henrietta Yate of Redcliff in the county of Somerset.

He the son of Sir Richard Mill (1687-1760) 5th Baronet and Margaret Knollys (1678-1744).
