An antique Qashqai small carpet, south-west Persia

Approx: 213cm. x 171cm. Unusual design for this type with large multicoloured stepped lozenge panels, containing bold hooked palmettes. Very good colour combination with soft light blue field. Apart of light of wear to the top pile in few small places, barely visible, this carpet has very good pile. Selvages original, partly rebound and small part replaced, well done. Touches of fraying on cord in few places. Ends with short fringes also slightly frying, secured though. Despite imperfection, this carpet is in good usable condition. Attractive and very good furnishing piece with good square size.
