A George I provincial sterling silver mug / tankard, Newcastle 1725 by John Carnaby (free. 5^th May 1718)

Of tapering cylindrical form with moulded rims, the hollow C scroll handle with applied pendant drop, the lower junction joining a girdle to the body. Hinged lid absent. Engraved to the handle with initials R over T * M in cursive script. Fully marked to side of handle.
