Rothschild - A pair of early Victorian sterling silver and frosted glass butter dishes, Birmingham 1838 by George Richmond Collis
Each on fourteen-sided panelled dishes, the glass bowls with scalloped rims, the panelled circular domed lids surmounted by a detachable cast finial of a cow. The base and lid engraved with triple crests of 1st, out of a ducal coronet a mullet of six points between two horns; 2nd, issuant from a ducal coronet an eagle displayed; 3rd, out of a ducal coronet three ostrich feathers, all below a Baron’s coronet. Each fully marked to base, lid, and finial. (2)
