A mid-20th century Iraqi silver dallah coffee pot, Omara or Basra circa 1950
Of conventional form with a baluster body with a long-curved spout opposite a loop strap handle. The domed hinged lid surmounted by a detachable notched finial, raised by a plain form thumbpiece. One side with niello decoration of the Taq Kasra (Ruins of Ctesiphon), the other side with the Al Takarta Mosque with a dhow sailing boat, with palm trees. The lid with sailing boats. Unsigned.
