A group of 65 albumen prints, image size 15.5 x21cm (smallest) to 21.8 x27.5cm (largest), pasted down onto card, card size 25.7 x34.8cm (smallest) to 35 x45.7cm (largest), most captioned, and numbered in ink lower margin, by various photographers such as Felice Beato (1832-1909); Francis Frith (1822-1898); including (2) prints by Samuel Bourne (1834-1912), and Charles Sheperd (1858–1878), and (3) by G.W. Lawrie & Co (active 1883–1921), signed and numbered in the negative.
Subjects include views of Varanasi, such as the Manikarnika ghat along the Ganges River; the Nepalese Temple; the Golden Temple; the Buddhist Temple and the Sarnath; a view of Varanasi from the opposite bank of the river; views of Delhi, such as the Iron Pillar and the Great Arch; Qutb Minar; Kashmir Gate; views of the Taj Mahal, Agra; Itmad-ud-Daula, Agra; a distance view of the Taj Mahal from the Red Fort; Suttee Chowra Ghat, Cawnpore; Parvati Tmple, Pune; Adinath Temple, Ranakpur; interior view of the Shah tomb, Ahmedabad; The Residency, Lucknow; together with group portraits of Indian women and men in traditional clothes; among others.
