A very fine part silk, signed Tabriz rug, north-west Persia

Approx: 168cm. x 104cm. Classic for this type with soft pastel colours and very well drawn design. This rug has full pile, soft and lustrous wool with part silk on field and border design. Very fine weave, approx: 8 x 8 knots per sq. cm; woven on silk foundation. Selvages original. Ends with original kilim with part floral carouches and fringes. In general, this rug is in very good condition throughout. Elegant and very good furnishing piece. Signature cartouche at each end.
