The Goddess of Mercy seated cross-legged atop a rocky outcrop, her hands and feet concealed by long flowing hooded robes that open at the chest, with styled hair beneath a ruyi-shaped tiara, the facial features finely modelled with eyes downcast to provide an expression of contemplation, covered overall in a white glaze, housed in a cloth box

This elegant figure of Guanyin was exhibited and illustrated by Marchant in their exhibition catalogue 'Blanc de Chine', 2014, no. 33. See an earlier Marchant catalogue of the same name from 2006, no.10, for a comparable figure also without a necklace.
