Maker: Thomas Gray, Sackville Street
Date: Late 18th century
Movement: Verge, chain fusee, finely engraved and pierced balance cock with diamond, quarter repeating, numbered '2264'
Dial: White enamel, outer minute track, Roman numerals, pierced diamond-set hands
Case: Yellow metal, pearl-set bezel, the case back enameled in blue with seed pearl border, the repeater button set with half pearl, unmarked
Watch chain: Yellow metal and blue enamel decorated, unmarked
Size: 52mm
Note: A period handwritten note contained within the case states: 'Wedding pre', sent of my father John Joshua of Earl of Carysfort, to his second wife Elizabeth Grenville'
John Joshua, eventually Baron Carysfort, married Elizabeth Grenville - daughter of Prime Minister George Grenville - in 1787
