A very fine silk Qum rug, central Persia

Approx: 206cm. x 135cm. Unusual design for this type with very nicely drawn design of bold angular cartouches containing horsmen and angualr floral and lafy tendrils together with hooked and linked floral lozenges. Very good colour combination. This rug has full pile, very soft and shiny silk quality. Ends with short fringes, secured. Selvages original. Very fine weave, approx; 8 x 8 knots per sq. cm; woven on silk foundation. In general, this rug is in very good condition throughout. Popular type at present market. Attractive and elegant piece.
