A rare early 19th century Chinese Export silver teapot, Canton circa 1830 mark of Khecheong
China Trade Period, of lobed compressed ‘melonized’ form upon a shaped lobed domed foot. The fluted curved spout opposite a C scroll handle with acanthus calyx junction, fitted with ivory insulators. The integral hinged lid surmounted by a detachable cast finial of a gourd with leafy calyx. The handle engraved with traces of a crest of a wolf regardant below the initials TJE in cursive script. Marked underneath only with KHC and pseudo hallmarks.
