A LARGE ENGRAVED BRASS TRAY WITH FIGURAL DECORATION

Of rectangular shape, with a reinforced everted rim, the finely engraved decoration consisting of a large central cartouche featuring a garden scene with three women attending a young courtier and his horse, four smaller cartouches show further leisurely scenes including couples drinking, smoking, and playing music, all positioned within a ground of floral sprays and birds, encompassed by a vegetal border, with a further border of calligraphic cartouches and additional vegetal and floral borders around the rim, 58cm x 37.7cm.
