"Chaplin's 100th anniversary, 16th april 1989 / This series of photographs made by W Eugene Smith for LIFE Magazine in early 1952, were based on the film Limelight in which he appeared as a 'has been' vaudeville actor who falls in love with a ballerina (Claire Bloom). This April will be the 100th anniversary of Charles Chaplin, apart from a multitude of biographies it is also planned to open a Chaplin museum in London/ Chaplin in the theater dressing room, trying to look like the young clown he use [sic] to be."
