A Victorian sterling silver teapot, London 1869 by Robert Garrard II (reg. 16th April 1818)

Of egg from, raised upon a stepped circular spreading foot, two bands of beading, the hinged domed lid surmounted by a detachable beaded disc and pyriform finial. The body with engraved decoration of repeating anthemion, the top with a band of trailing scrolls and the lid with strapwork with stylised acanthus spikes. The C scroll handle with ivory insulators leading to acanthus leaf junctions. The curved spout engraved with an anthemion. Fully marked underneath and part marked to lid, finial and retaining nut. Stamped underneath ‘Garrards Panton Street London.
