An early 20th century Chinese export silver teapot, Shanghai circa 1920, marked Qi Chang, retailed by Sincere and Co of Shanghai, Hong Kong, Canton, and Nannin
Republic period. Of globular form upon a rounded collet foot, the curved bamboo modelled spout opposite a handle modelled as bamboo fitted with ivory insulators, the hinged domed lid surmounted by a detachable finial modelled as bamboo. The body with embossed decoration of a bamboo shoot, against a textured ground. Marked underneath with artisan mark 其昌 (QI CHANG), 先施 (XIAN SHI | Sincere and Co), and retailer’s mark SINCERE. Together with an unmarked pair of sugar tongs. (2)
