As per the caption, this print was most likely used to publicise the 1985 publication of "W. Eugene Smith: Let Truth Be the Prejudice". The lengthy caption, which includes a short biography about Smith, notes distribution from the Magnum offices in Paris, with the addendum "NOT FOR PUBLICATION IN THE UNITED STATES".

"Pittsburg [sic] 1955-56 / Smith says that during 1955, he made approximately 11,000 exposures in and around the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He considered this to be his difinitive [sic] "essay" in which he inspired to create a portrait of a community scanning the entire range of the intricate web of social, economic, cultural, and political forces that make up a major industrial city / a steel foundry in Pittsburgh."
