A mid-20th century Persian (Iranian) silver tray, Isfahan circa 1960 mark of Rasool Parvaresh

Pahlavi dynasty. Of rectangular form with rounded corners, the ovolo edge and moulded rim. The field with engraved ghalam zani decoration of a vertically symmetrical composition of a mythical beak attacking a goat with a cockerel above, a demon mask below, otherwise with foliate scrolls and peonies infilled with cockerels and beast masks, edged with arabesque cartouches, as well as a rosette border. The ovolo edge with a chased monabbat-kari decoration of trailing peonies. Marked to underside with workshop mark رسول پرورش and with standard mark (۸۴).
