Vintage black and white photograph of Joan Crawford in a head and shoulders pose, signed and inscribed "To Hilda, from Joan Crawford" near the lower margin, light age-related discolouration, some silvering, a few surface marks, low left corner slightly bent, 10 x 8"; together with nine typed letters signed ("Joan Crawford" or "Joan") to Hilda Forrest, thanking Hilda for her Christmas greetings and gifts ("I am so thrilled to have 'Painting as a Pastime' by Winston Churchill and shall treasure it always. The section with some of his paintings is most interesting and I am very grateful to you for your choice", 23 February 1949), , discussing Crawford's work ("Am glad you were happy that I won the Oscar, Have you seen the picture yet?
