Qing dynasty, of compressed circular form raised upon four anthemion and scroll bracket feet, the handle formed as a Chinese dragon with cut sheet frills and a wire horns. The body with chased decoration of a continuous scene showing battle scenes and a seated courtly layout with the emperor to one side, a vacant oval cartouche to the front. Marked to one foot with retailer’s mark 徳㒷 (DAK HING) and to the other with artisan mark 善(SHAN).

Weight – 302 grams / 9.71 ozt
Notes:This artisan mark was upon a large mug engraved for the Penang races dated 1869, this also had a battle scene with an Emperor, sold these rooms, 11 Oct 2023, lot 163 (£5250 incl. prem)
