A set of six early 20^th century Chinese export silver bowls, Canton circa 1910 by Qiu Ji, retailed by Ing Wo of Hong Kong

Qing / Republican period. Each of tapering circular form with a moulded rim. The bodies with pierced and embossed decoration of trailing Chinese dragons amidst clouds, centred with a vacant cartouche of the sacred pearl. Each fitted with a clear glass liner. Each marked underneath with retailer's mark I.W with an artisan mark 求記 (QIU JI, a Canton based workshop, Cantonese KAU GEI). (6)

The retailer Ing Wo was located in the Hong Kong, Sheung Wan District 上環 [Mandarin SHANG HUAN] between Central and Sai Ying Pun in the north-west of Hong Kong Island centred around Western Market where the 19th-century Man Mo Temple was located and today’s Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal.
