An early to mid - 20th century Ceylonese (Sri Lankan) silver box, Kandy circa 1920 – 40 by Kandyan Arts Association
Of oblong form with a hinged domed lid, the lid with embossed and chased figures of a Kinnara and Kinnari, edged with foliage, a hunter with bow and arrow to the right, and a stylised jackal to the left. The base with various dancing deity figures (devas). The underside flat chased with a rosette flanked by two asymmetrical foliate scroll, reserved with a ring punched ground. Marked to the base side bezel with lion rampant sinha mark and KAA (Kandyan Arts Association).
