Carlo Antonio Barbaro (1721-1793) was an antiquarian and wrote an essay on the 1768 archaeological finds in Malta, ‘Degli avanzi d'alcuni antichissimi edifizi scoperti in Malta l'anno 1768’, posthumously published in 1794.
