Circular form with a rounded basin upon a screw fixed stand formed as four supports modelled as kirtimukha masks. The main body and foot with embossed architraves chased with foliate patterns and water lettuce. Basing section filled. Marked to the footrim edge DAC.

Notes:The tok covered or uncovered is the archetypal vessel of Cambodian silverware, this example drawn closely upon 19th century Thai vessels with the use of the four curved supports is most commonly encountered as the figure of Garuda. The mark DAC probably relates to a control or arts association mark as it is found upon a stylistically wide variety of well made Cambodian vessels from the early to mid-20th century including boxes and tea sets, such as a large cigarette box sold these rooms 21 June 2023, lot 135 (£1500 incl. prem).
