A late 19th century Anglo – Indian silver mug, Cutch, Bhuj circa 1890 by Oomersi Mawji (active circa 1860-90)
Raj period. Of cylindrical form upon a domed foot, the side with a cast an applied handle formed as a monitor lizard, the body with chased decoration of foliate scrolls with rosettes, populated with embossed animals, of a lion slaying an antelope, two hounds attacking a deer, and an elephant grappling with a tiger. Marked underneath O.M and BHUJ encameo.
