A late 19th century Anglo – Indian unmarked silver hot water or coffee pot, Lucknow circa 1895
Raj period. Of baluster form with a short spout, the pull off lid surmounted by a caparisoned elephant finial. An opposable loop over handle. The body with chased decoration in jungle pattern between borders of curved fish.
Height – 19.5 cm / 7.75 inches
Weight – 308 grams / 9.9 ozt
Similar pots and tea sets from Lucknow are known with British import marks for the late 1890’s
